Nelore Churrascaria Brazilian Steakhouse in Houston

The first time I went was over 2 years ago. I enjoyed the experienced, but became very sick from food poisoning the day after. I decided to risk it and try it again a few days ago. Thankfully, I didn't get sick. The salad bar is great (pretty much half of my meal), and the meat was okay. I ordered a dirty martini, which was pretty good. Our friend arrived late, and we were the last ones there, so they offered him a plate with a big helping of meat. When we asked to take it to-go, the waiting staff refused. Then, when it came time to pay, the manager was very rude to my friend. He even said, "Can you speak English?" I'm not planning on going back.

They were very attentive and courteous! I have been to several Brazilian Steakhouses, but this one was the best. The meat was seasoned to perfection! I will most definitely be returning soon!

These guys are the perfect example of how to go out of business with absolutely no grace. They have raised their prices, their wine markups are *absurd*, and even with a Groupon or Living Social deal they are *still* overpriced because they've gone so high on their prices. I am done with this place, and they should be within the year.

Frequent this place often due to the groupon offering. Service is always pretty good. Our last outing, we had to verbally request meat a little more than we would have liked to. They put 18% gratuity based on the total bill before Groupon...so be prepared. We will be back. Thanks

Excellent! The vegetables are awesome. The wine(chardonnay) is perfect after a long day of work. I recommend this to anyone who likes these kind of restuarants

Good food, love the salad bar but on our visit it was 1/2 empty. Had to asked for desert menu and other items multiple times. They were not that busy at the time. Was a big $$$ check and was so disappointed in service, left a good $$ tip also.

Great food, but in the beginning we were really served great. Then towards the end when they changed servers we were skipped many many times and patrons around us were being served instead of us. And before you ask yes we did have our little signs "Sim, Por Favor "on green. Other than that , the valet is good The atmosphere is good for a small location, I would definitely advise you to make your own assumption of how this place is. I feel the servers towards the end weren't not really paying attention to us even though they served a table in front of us beside us and behind us. Would I go back, Yes to see if it was just a one time thing or a reoccurring thing because they probably had a new servers for us.

The meat was tough and very salty. The sides (mashed potatoes and broccoli) were very cold. The building is nice and the waiter was attentive but the food is just not good. I won't be going back.

Brazilian food at this place - excellent. a preferred evening place. certainly worth going back to. the prices are fair for the quality of food.

This is a good, convenient, neighborhood steakhouse. The meats are very good, and the staff is usually very friendly. They usually have groupons or other deals.

Its the same food as any other Brazilian steakhouse but for a little less price. i enjoyed the atmosphere, staff was great. Ive seen a few people talk about the salad bar. A Brazilian steakhouse is not the place for salad, its a limited salad bar. I few cheeses, vegetables, some obscure and native to Brazil. Its my favorite Rodizio place

Came with a party of 7 for lunch, 1pm. Don't expect Fogo obviously for the price nor will you get the service. The salad bar was unimpressive and very limited compared to similar restaurants. The flavor of the meat was inconsistent and somewhat tough. Server was inattentive and the Gauchos were slow and at times were nowhere to be found. Very disappointed and this place came highly recommended. Won't be back.

This is a very quaint place with a nice atmosphere. The servers were attentive and prompt. The salad bar was small but I did not come here for the greens I came for the meat; all of which delicious. They had all of my favorite animals. I was annoyed that the coke I ordered was 3.50$ and was an 8 ounce can, I don't mind the price for unlimited refills but come on 8 ounces?? All and all I would recommend and return. Price reflects lunch pricing.

The service was good, the salad bar was small but tasty, the meats were delicious, and the setting was cozy and intimate.

Nelore is Brazilian for Tough. After Groupon the tax and mandatory tip are $25. Just about every piece of meat was rubbery. The pork ribs were the worst. I had one or two good bites but I amassed a pile of play-do meat that I wouldn't eat.

While the service is decent or even somewhat good, the food is among the worst. I travel on a weekly basis across the country and once in a while internationally. Read the reviews and hoped that the negative comments (especially about the dry meat) were a one-off. Unfortunately that was not the case. The positive reviewers must have been starving when they showed up and were ready to eat anything that remotely resembles food. Just about every piece of meat this restaurant offers is overcooked and has little or no flavor. The salad bar is ok since it is pretty hard to mess that up. Anyone who says that this place is authentic Brazilian has never been to Brazil! I haven't tried the other Brazilian style restaurants in the area and doubt that I will after this experience.

This place is not even close to fogo de Chao, or any other Brazilian steakhouse I've been to in the houston area. The salad bar was empty and not many options. The hot side items lack flavor and most where cold. The steaks that they brought out were over cooked, lack taste & some were cold. On top of that there were only 5 beef options. I had six guess and my family of four that I won't mention what I paid for such a horrible experience. I know most people that read reviews may not pay attention to the bad ones, but if you read the ones here about this restaurant they are pretty consistent and not just an individuals bad experience. I wish I had read them before going.

They first tried to seat us upstairs which is not where you want to be -- there is just not much up there and it is very far from the salad bar. I was looking forward to a great salad bar, but frankly it was pretty small. The meat was OK, but I can do a better job with a steak on my own grill. They give you tons of food, but for me I wan to have something that I can't do myself and tastes great.

The place isn't as bad as the reviews say. Good selection of meats. Servers were extremely nice and if they didn't have something in circulation, when asked, they made it. Hopefully all my stuff is still in my truck, I valeted. To be continued...

Dry, tough, hard-to-chew meat - below par salad bar - way high priced!! $100+ for 2 people. .Tiny little waiters were pretty nice though. We certainly won't be back

ATTN! CLOSED CLOSED! This is placed is unfortunately CLOSED! Signs on windows say Lost Lease. For me, was just as good as the rest. Too bad...Was only Brazil Steakhouse anywhere near downtown. :(

They have a lot of extra cost that I didn't pay at other churrascaria - Mandatory valet parking, limenada is per carafe or cup (other places it was unlimited), they seems to steer everyone towards the wines, the seating felt cramped. They tend to go around with the bacon wrapped chicken which I am going to guess is there cheapest cut. They didn't have a menu of cuts was well. They weren't very willing to explain the different cuts they had or request a certain one be brought.I preferred Tradciao or Pradaria(which unfortunately closed).

Very good, forthcoming staff. Slightly disappointed that valet is the only option. Great location and super cute building.

Nelore is one of my favorite places. The food is always delicious, and the service is superb.

Waiter was very attentive and polite. We came on a Groupon so make sure you have a reservation a couple days ahead of time if you decide to go that route. The meat was cooked to perfection and even came out too fast at one point. However, we did not get to try all 13 different meats as was advertised. The salad bar is amazing...very diverse! Lastly, if you are going to park in their lot it is valet only. If you don't want to do that, there is a neighborhood across the street but be careful because we got hustled for money at night. I'd recommend the restaurant to anyone who loves meat and doesn't mind having a few bowel disturbances the next day 😉

Meats were tasty as well as the items at the salad bar. Dinner is $40pp, but they have a Groupon. Just know that they'll charge tax and 18% gratuity on the pre-discounted amount and then deduct $40pp.

GREAT PLACE!!!! The services are wonderful. They make sure that you are comfortable, happy, and enjoying your meal. It's very clean and the setting is very peaceful, calm, and intimate. The food is FABULOUS! Meat is PERFECT and cooked to your liking, salad bar is full of many tasteful selections, and the bread is AMAZING!! My husband and I chose this place one night because Fogo was packed (as usual) but we have not ever regret it and still don't. Since then this place has been one of our regulars; and that's rare considering that I can be very picky at times. Keep up the good work and can't wait for the next dine in =-)

Carnivores little paradise. Small, cozy. Even a little romantic. If you love meat, you will love this little Brazilian restaurant. The food and service is outstanding. Need reservations. Valet is mandatory! $$$

Plan to spend about $30 per person for lunch - this is NOT a $12.95 buffet. Nothing wrong with those. Now that that is out of the way, let's talk! The atmosphere is warm and cozy and would be romantic for dinner. The meal begins at a buffet consisting of a variety of sides and salads. The entrées - top sirloin, bottom sirloin, filet mignon, chicken and sausage - are brought to your table, sliced off the skewer (sword) and placed on your plate. This is an all you can eat venue and they have no issue graciously serving you all you can eat. Everything was delicious, nicely prepared and attractive. We walked in for lunch, a bit before noon, without reservations. The wait staff was very attentive and polite. Given what was served, this was worth every penny.

Picanha can not get enough of it so good and tasty. The salad bar was ok and the customer service was great. I came here during the lunch rush but there was no one here besides my party of 4. Close to use leaving another party of 4 showed up. But the service and food was good and price wasn't bad i spent about $37 for my self.

Coming here for years. But all the beef is well done. Even after I asked for med well. Why??

Awesome food awesome service. This is the one of two Churrascarias in Houston that I prefer. You won't be disappointed.

It really is like a one and a half. We were hungry and able to get full after being on the road all day. And part of it was our fault should have asked the price because if we would have known the price before hand we would not have stayed because it is not worth the price. Gonna stay with Texas de Brazil.

We had a reservation set 2 days ahead for a friends birthday. Once we entered the restaurant, a man approached us and told they were closing for the evening without explanation or apology. I told them we had a reservation and asked why they let us even have a reservation in the first place if they were going to close, but they just responded back with an attitude like we were supposed to know they would be closing durring normal business hours. Seemed shady at best. Went to Fogo instead and had a great meal.

The meats are great, especially the lamb, the shrimp, and the picanha! The staff is friendly, and very accommodating. A great local restaurant located in a historic house in Montrose/museum district, this place has a lot of elegant charm. To drink, the sangria is great--as well as the caipirinhas made with vodka-- and for dessert, finish with brigadeiro or crema de papaya.

One of my favorite places to dine. The salad bar is second to none, meats are perfect(I prefer medium), service is the best. I really enjoy dining at a restaurant in which I can enjoy the scene. My ONLY complaint is towards their "OpenTable App" reservation.When using OpenTable, it states that there is no tables available, however, I still show up, and there is more than enough seating. This has happened on more than one occasion. Please get rid of it and go back to your original reservations.
